Dr. Ardovino has been practicing dentistry for over 18 years. After spending much of her career focusing on general dentistry, she’s excited to be dedicating 100 percent of her time to seeing sleep apnea patients and providing them with outstanding and life-changing care. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Ardovino decided to pursue dentistry after college. She knew she wanted to be in a career that allowed her to help heal patients, but she also wanted to work with her hands. Dentistry was a perfect combination of the two, so it felt like a natural fit!

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Ardovino attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for her undergraduate studies and the University of Alabama School of Dentistry for her Doctor of Dental Medicine. After graduating, she completed a General Practice Residency. She has practiced general dentistry for the past 15+ years in a private practice, and she has since sold her practice to devote the rest of her career to focusing solely on sleep dentistry. While in private practice, she attended the renowned Dawson Academy, where she has received Fellowship status in TMJ and Occlusion. Shortly after her fellowship, she trained at the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, where she became a Diplomate.

What Does it Mean to be a Diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine?

Reaching Diplomate status in the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine requires completing hundreds of hours of continuing education focused on sleep apnea treatment, as well as completing a 4 hour examination to demonstrate your knowledge. Dr. Ardovino has completed an AADSM Mastery Program, which included special training in treating snoring and sleep apnea, as well as patient screening for sleep apnea. By seeing a dentist with Diplomate status in the AADSM, you can trust that you’re seeing someone who has proven their expertise in treating sleep apnea.

What Do You Like to Do?

Whenever Dr. Ardovino isn’t at the office, she enjoys exercising, playing tennis, reading, and going to concerts. If you’re watching reruns of Dawson’s Creek, you may even spot her as an extra! She also won the State Tennis Championship in high school.
